 As members of the monthly Renting Authority program the background and credit reports are available to you for the discounted price of $13.95. Applicants however are not considered members and must pay the full price. The fee they pay for processing their application is more often than not less than our competitors nationwide. We also find that if an applicant is unwilling to pay for processing an application they are not serious enough about the apartment. This keeps them from shopping around and leaving applications at multiple complexes. It's also a good litmus test of how they may handle rent payments. If they balk at $24.95 how will they then handle say $800.00 for rent?

If you are still concerned about the price may I suggest what some of our other landlords have done? Use the print application option and save the document to your computer. Give the prospective tenant the application attached to an email of your own. When they return it, you can then log on and select “background and credit reports.” This way you can get them for the lower price, and can charge them what you feel is appropriate be it more or less than the price you pay.
