I need assistance in collecting unpaid rents after a tenant was legally evicted. I hired an eviction service to do the eviction and retrieval of unpaid rents but they failed to inform me that the two actions are performed at separate costs to me. The collections department wants a fee of 40% of the rents collected. I find this fee abussive and the lawyer involved a legal thief preying on the needy.

Can you help with information on the best and most economical avenue for me to follow?

Thank you,

 John

John, these rates appear high.  Unfortunately, 40% is a common rate collection companies charge.  I suggest shopping around more and check reference on the collection company.

Thanks,

Troy
