I have a hardwood floor in my townhouse that i am renting out. It cost me $8k. The tenant has an 8 lb. dog. How much security deposit and pet deposit would be a fair amount. I am in California, and am renting the unit for $2500 a month.

Hi Bobby,

Fortunately 8 lbs. is a pretty small dog so the damage will be minimal. The floor may need to be polished when she leaves due to the dogs nails. Add whatever the highest bidder would ask for doing this. That way even if the price is effected by inflation you should still have enough to cover it.
