Troy ,
have you ever heard of landlords requiring verification of liability / renters insurance for renters? Does this help reduce the landlord’s insurance premiums?

Steve,
Great question. Many landlord require tenants to carry renter's insurance. Your insurance maybe lowered. Check with your insurance company.
Landlords are finding that tenants with renters insurance are more responsable tenants and reports less structure problems to them. If a tenant causes damage because of their own negligence, the renter's insurance is your first line of defense. Water and fire damages are great examples of this. Check with your local insurance agent for more benefits of requiring renters insurance.
I hope this helps,
Troy
